At Sheffield Doc/Fest in 2013 Crossover will present the Crossover Award which will be awarded to the documentary in the competition that demonstrates the best use of transmedia and new delivery platforms.
Previously Doc/Fest has celebrated the most innovative storytelling methods through its Innovation Award but the Crossover Award will specialize in films that do not have a traditional delivery method. Gone is the cinema and television, in comes interactivity and transmedia.
The previous winner of the Innovation Award was Crossover favourite ‘Bear 71′, the horrifying interactive journey of a grizzly bear through the Banff wilderness, selected by a jury that included Arnaud Dressen and Siobhan O’Flynn .
